Even at bending radii of below 25 millimeters, significant additional signal attenuation occurs in the material. The multicore glass optical fiber, on the other hand, can withstand temperatures of up to 125°C and can be laid with a minimum bending radius of 5 millimeters without noticeable attenuation, almost like a copper cable.
